IHF for a Cause<\/a> is participating in the HAWC Walk & 5K Run and Kier’s Hope 5k Run and Fun Walk.HAWC WALK & 5K RUN<\/strong><\/p>\n

HAWC<\/a> (Healing Abuse Working for Change) strives to help abused women, children, men, and nonbinary people live free from violence and fear. As a leading domestic abuse agency in Massachusetts, HAWC provides a domestic abuse helpline, emergency shelter, legal services, advocacy and counseling services to more than 2,500 families in the North Shore area each year.<\/p>\n

Beyond providing this help, HAWC advocates for social and cultural change. With one in three women and one in four men experiencing abuse each year, domestic abuse is an epidemic. To raise awareness and bolster prevention efforts, HAWC supplies the public with education, volunteer opportunities, annual community events, and frequent updates on related news and legislation.<\/p>\n

Once known as \u201cHelp for Abused Women and Their Children,\u201d HAWC understands the complexity of abuse. Thus, we expanded our language capacity so abused women, men, non binary people, LGBTQ+ individuals, older adults, undocumented individuals, and people with disabilities can feel comfortable accepting our services.<\/p>\n

For almost 40 years, HAWC has provided healing, freedom, and change to survivors throughout Massachusetts\u2019 North Shore.<\/p>\n

The walk will be Sunday, June 9, 2024.<\/p>\n

KIER’S HOPE FUN RUN & WALK<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Established in the heart of Dallas, Texas, the Kier\u2019s Hope<\/a> 5K Run and Fun Walk is an annual event like no other. It is a beacon of hope dedicated to raising awareness and supporting those bravely battling Sickle Cell Disease. Kier’s Hope and Mission is to provide unprivileged individuals who suffer from Sickle Cell Disease to ensure they receive the medical, physical, and emotional attention they deserve. The annual\u00a0Sickle Cell Disease 5K Fun Run and Walk\u00a0and\u00a0Junior Claus\u00a0is an opportunity for patients and families of those with sickle cell disease to gather and learn more about\u00a0new updates in sickle cell disease treatments\u00a0and to\u00a0spread awareness and increase community engagement.<\/span><\/p>\n

The walk will be Saturday, June 1, 2024.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

DEVELOPING A PROGRAM TO GIVE BACK<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The IHF for a Cause Team was born out of a commitment to make positive impact within our communities and beyond. Founded on the concept \u201cleave the world a little better than we found it\u201d, the IHF for a Cause program was created to support charities that are near and dear to us. Throughout the year, Ironhorse Funding will choose non-profit organizations to support as part of the program.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
